About The Artist

Shannon Sweet is the Owner and Founder of Desert Moonshine Jewelry, LLC, the Jewelry Studio Technician for Central New Mexico Community College, and Vice President of the New Mexico Jewelers Association.

Shannon was born and raised in Hawaii, achieved her Bachelors of Art at Ithaca College in New York, and then found herself in the Land of Enchantment falling in love with the desert mountains. She considers it an immense privilege to study and work in the jewelry field in the culturally-rich New Mexican jewelry environment, and to serve that community by aiding others in pursuing Jewelry Skilled Trades and Arts.

Drawing from Nature’s geometry and symbolism, and 20 years of Belly Dance and Fusion Dance experience, Shannon founded Desert Moonshine Jewelry and loves creating jewelry with meaning and intention, bringing us all together under the light of one Moon.

Shannon is a notorious night owl, loves her cats Alejandro and Memphis, and enjoys sunset hikes in the Sandia Foothills when she’s not dreaming up new jewelry designs.
